Chapter 7: Motility of LC1 mutant Chlamydomonas
Motility of LC1 mutant Chlamydomonas
This movie shows the flagellar motility of a single Chlamydomonas cell that expressed a dominant negative form (M182G) of outer arm dynein LC1. The flagella are unable to beat in phase due to random stalls of 1-2 msec and consequently the cell swims slowly with a rocking motion. The movie was taken at 600 frames/sec and is played back at 10 frames/sec. See Patel-King and King (2009) J Cell Biol 186, 283-295.
